President’s Message:

Dearest Ladies,

Now that the Holidays have passed, we look forward to Valentine’s Day, a day of love.  Then it’s onto Mardi Gras, Saint Patrick’s Day and Easter.  You can show your loving spirit at our March Fashion Show and Scholarship Fundraiser by helping us secure donations and joining us at the festivities.  It takes a village to pull these events together, and Ladies, we are that village.  You can also enjoy the February “5 O’clock Somewhere” at the popular O’Keefe’s on Thursday, February 16th.  Many of us will be cruising on the “Brilliance of the Seas” in early February.  Think about joining us next year.  From personal experience over the years, we have a blast and really get to know each other.

I would like to thank all of you for the outpouring of condolences on the passing of my mother.  She was a wonderful lady and I and my family will miss her so very much.  We cherish the many memories we have made over the years.  Again, thank you all so very much!

With much love and respect,

Joan Landreth, IEWC President

Program Chair

February Luncheon—Our speaker for February is David Farrar, President of the Island Estates Civic Association and Vice Chair of the City of Clearwater Code Enforcement Board.  With his knowledge and long-time residence in Clearwater, he will bring us up-to-date on what’s going on at the beach and on Island Estates.

A Message from Your Fundraising Chairs

We are busy planning our March Scholarship Fundraiser, which allows us to award college scholarships to ladies graduating from Clearwater High School.  Our luncheon, fashion show and fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at the Belleair Country Club.

The Fashion Show will be courtesy of Chico’s and along with the Fundraising Fun, there will be the Silent Auction, Pick A Prize and the ever-popular Tree Prizes.  More details will follow next month.

Patti Jucha and Debbie Christofferson are the Fundraising Chairs.  We need your help with many things including:

  • Prizes (solicit prizes, make follow-up phone calls, pick up prizes)

  • Prize Packaging Party the week before the event

  • Event Day Set-up

  • Event Day help at Fundraising Stations

If you want to be part of this exciting event supporting a very worthy cause, please contact Patti at pattijucha@yahoo.com or 661-477-1741.       Let us know you want to be part of it!  Thanks in advance for your help!

Membership Report

We are now 205 members strong!  We welcome all of the new members to our Club.

There continues to be confusion about joining online and paying by check.  If you are sending in a check, you must complete and print the membership form and send it with your check.  Do not complete the online form unless you are paying by credit card with our online system.

Dues paid April 1st or after will be applied to the 2023-2024 Club year.  Any payments prior to that apply to the current 2022-2023 year.  You will receive an email letting you know when your renewal fees are due.

If you have any questions, please contact Patti Jucha at pattijucha@yahoo.com or iewcmembership@gmail.com

IEWC Board Meetings

Board meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, except February (which is on the second Tuesday of the month), at 9:00 AM.  Board meetings are open to the entire membership and members are welcome to attend to see the workings of the club and learn how they can get involved.  Board meetings are being held at 400 Island Way in their meeting room on the first floor.
