Welcome Back! I am excited about my first year as President of Island Estates Women’s Club. I have some big shoes to fill following Joan Landreth. We have great speaker programs planned and some new and exciting field trips and 5 O’clock Somewhere. We looked at your suggestions for speaker topics and new venues and I hope you are as excited as I am for this upcoming year. We are looking to update our website and make it easier to navigate.
I look forward to seeing you this fall.

Our first speaker in September is talking about fraud prevention and I wanted to bring up to everyone that if you receive an email that says it’s from me asking if you have a minute to pay a bill for me or buy a gift card, these are spam. This has been an issue with my two predecessors as well. We are working to resolve this and hope to have it fixed in late fall.

From your 5 O'clock Somewhere Team - Lynne McCaskill and Maureen Brown
Welcome back. We had a fabulous summer of 5 O'clock Somewhere and have an exciting schedule of favorites and new venues for the year. Our club events calendar has a listing of all the planned events. You will be sent an email announcing the 5 O'clock with a link to RSVP. We must have your RSVP so we can inform the venue of the number of tables we need.

It’s that time of year and we’ve been hard at work asking for donations from local businesses. Request donations at local businesses you frequent or send the business name to Sandy, as well as if you have something new to donate or a gift card you’d like to donate. The donation form is located at the end of the newsletter.

Your IEWC website has a wealth of great information. It includes your Calendar of Events, Luncheon Reservations, Links to Events and Reservations, Membership Renewal, Club Cruise, Monthly Newsletter, and our Community Fundraisers (Mammography Voucher Program, Clothes to Kids Shoe Drive, and Scholarship Awards. You can use the website to make reservations for luncheons, donations, membership renewal and field trips. Although you can access it from your mobile device it is simpler from your computer. In the next few months, we will be working on some website changes so look for those changes to be rolling out.
